Celebrating Dogs, Ski's and the Great Outdoors

Dryland Season has Arrived

With the arrival of Spring many of the Midwest Skijorers Club are dusting off their scooters, carts and rollerblades . After a few weeks of rainy respite the trails are drying up and the dogs are ready to run once again. The club will once again offer Dryland training classes and fun runs throughout the Spring months. Please see the events page for dates and locations.

2008 Skijor Season

jim benson

The 2008 skijor season was one of the best in recent history. There were no race cancellations and on most courses the snow was great. We were able to get in a fun run almost every weekend and held many impromptu skijor clinics. There were many new faces sprinkled in with our old friends. Trollhaugen once again opened their cross country trail to the Midwest Skijorers Club for 3 weekends. Baker and Bunker have become favorites and many also were able to get regular runs in on the golf course trails in the metro area. The new Midwest Skijorers Winter Event was a huge success in spite of the -35 temps and the City of Lakes Loppet enjoyed a beautiful, temperate day for its race of over 50 participants.

Dogs Across America 2007 daalogoWe had 5 members turn out for the MSC DAA event on Saturday, November 10th at Bunker Hills Park. We used scooters and two different types of rigs. The course was easy enough for beginners, but had some sandy areas and a nice hill to give the dogs a work out. We all had a great time!

All MSC members are able to count their mileage from the Byllesby race towards their total DAA mileage.
